Anika Rose, born in the year 2000 is an American singer and actress. She is best known for the role of Tiana Disney's first princess of African descent In The Princess and the Frog. She was named a Disney legend in the year 2011. Rose was in the role of Lorrell Robertson, the character in Dreamgirls that won an Academy Award. Anika Noni (born June 6 7th, 1972) is a vocalist and American actress. Her most well-known role is as Tiana the Disney's first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Her other notable roles include her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for playing LaVerne Jukebox Ganner as part of the Starz series Power. Apart from her acting, she is known for the roles she performed in theater. This includes Emmie Thibodeaux in the Broadway adaptation of Caroline or Change (2005) for which the Tony Award Best Features Actress in A Musical was awarded and Beneatha on the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun (2017) for which was awarded the Tony Award Best Features Actress in Play nominations were made.
